A Christening + Surprise Wedding!

There is always a unique story to every wedding here at The Oaks but this one was different! The deadline was relatively short but most importantly we were sworn to secrecy about this also being a wedding! The very thing we usually shout from the rooftops about!

The invites were sent out to Harbours christening, taking place at Dilhorne All Saints Church and then on to The Oaks for a good old celebration. Everyone arrived at the church other than the secret bride-to-be and bridal party as they were apparently stuck in traffic. The heads up was given and the vicar made the announcement that Liv had arrived, the groom Tom just about kept his cool laughing along to all the jokes that it was like waiting for a bride to arrive (or not!). She glided down the aisle wearing a stunning wedding dress, accompanied by her stepfather while everyone gasped and cheered!

After the initial shock and whispers of ‘Did you know?’ . . . ‘I had no idea!’ . . . the wedding ceremony commenced followed up by Harbours christening. The party was one to remember, laid back and casual with a huge bath tub full of our iconic Tipple Trough drinks package. The bride also happens to be one of our highly recommended florist & wedding décor suppliers. Liv created her own bouquet and wedding flowers, brought along her prop bath tub and handed out the mens buttonholes she’d also crafted. Although there was no preparation as even the best man didn’t know he was in fact to be . . . a best man, he made the most fantastic speech completely off the cuff.
