Through the eyes of the bride - Planning your wedding day at The Oaks

When we first met Anthony and Rebecca at their first viewing of The Oaks I knew this would be a partnership that worked as Rebecca pointed out to us that her Pinterest boards were overflowing with wedding inspo! Their wedding was meant to take place in April 2020 but luckily the delay led them to The Oaks and Rebecca also admits it gave her more time to put more effort in to the planning and β€˜up her game’!

Luckily for us, our alpacas helped to cement their decision to book our venue when they returned for their second viewing. Alan the alpaca must have had a sparkle in his eye!

When chatting with the couple they said β€˜The Oaks is the perfect back drop and needs very little decoration as its surroundings both inside and out are beautiful, but it was attending the wedding fayre that clinched it. There was a balloon arch at the entrance in the exact colour palette I had imagined in my head. I knew then that our visions aligned. Modern meets rustic and elegant’.

Our recommended supplier Olive and Bloom, already having inspired the couple with the balloon arch was then set the task of incorporating pampas grass, copper and rust tones within the dΓ©cor to match the bridesmaid dresses.

The couples love for New York also played a big part in the styling. They decided against a traditional top table and went for a more intimate setting by sitting amongst their guests.

Becky says, β€˜this lent itself perfectly to tie in with my love of New York as our table was the Empire State Building, right in the heart of the city. Our tall pampas centre piece symbolising the big apples iconic tall building’. The surrounding tables were named after NYC landmarks, featuring handmade copper pipe photo frames and a picture of Rebecca and Anthony at each landmark. These impressive and rustic coloured copper centre pieces were hand crafted by the bride herself! To keep to the budget, Rebecca made the seating chart, photo frames, place settings, invitations and order of service herself. She commented that she enjoyed the process as she loves being crafty.

The party started in the evening with the fabulous band β€˜The Sound Party’ which Rebecca openly admits she nicked from her friend Kates wedding!

Rebecca: β€˜The whole day was just amazing. It's so overwhelming but we honestly had the best day. So relaxed and at ease, Julie, Rianna and Family were incredible hosts. I just wish we could do it all again next year’.

We wish this special couple a wonderful future and are thrilled to have played a part in the next chapter of their lives together.
