A trip down the road to Sixtowns gin distillery

This is one for the gin lovers! We had the absolute pleasure of visiting the extremely local and independently ran Sixtowns distillery. We obviously didn’t leave empty handed! In fact we left with quite a few heavy boxes to keep The Oaks in good supply!

Originating from the city of Rezekne, Latvia, two brothers grew up watching their grandparents distil from the grain, as had their parents before them. The secret family recipe has been passed down through the generations and lives on as the brothers moved to Stoke: The ‘World capital of ceramics’. Inspired by the cities reputation for high craftmanship, the brand began to form. The brothers began by selling state-of-the-art Genio distillery equipment. They combined their mutual love for crafting spirits with their family’s secret recipes and set out on a mission to create an artisan gin that encapsulated the refined craftsmanship of Stoke-on-Trent… and Sixtowns Gin was born.”

The iconic bottle really caught our attention when The Oaks team were out and about, trialling local pubs and eateries. Not only is the gin delicious but it’s also steeped in local history and culture and we couldn’t be more thrilled to now stock it on our shelves here at The Oaks.
